New Course in the UNPAN Online Training Centre


The UNPAN Online Training Centre launched a new interactive course on “Introduction to Citizen Engagement in Public Governance for the Realization of the Millennium Development Goals”.

The course provides an overview of the ideas, issues, tools and examples of practices and methodologies of participatory public governance that can be effective in fostering the achievement of the MDGs. The objective of the training course is to enhance knowledge and capacities, and to motivate for action. It is addressed to practitioners, including community leaders, responsible for the formulation and implementation of development policies and programmes, as well as scholars and students of public administration.

E-Government Interoperability now in Russian


This week, UNPAN launched the Russian version of the E-Government Interoperability course on its Online Training Centre. The course was translated by Dr. Yuri Hohlov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ms. Louisa Rizmanova, Head of International Relations and PR Department, both from the Institute of the Information Society (IIS). The translation was coordinated by Mr. Vyatcheslav Cherkasov, Senior Governance and Public Administration Officer of the Development Management Branch, which is part of the Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
